Dirmeik Consulting was founded in 2006 by Cape Town accountant Brett Dirmeik as a distinctive, boutique accounting firm aimed at assisting private individuals and small to large organisations with their accounting, auditing and taxation requirements.

In 2006, our aim was to offer clients a personalised, professional service based on straightforward, open interactions, as well as trust, respect and the development of long term relationships. It is upon this solid foundation that Brett Dirmeik has established a sustainable organisation that is supported by a growing base of loyal clientele and which continues to realise successful results year-on-year.

Brett Dirmeik – Professional Accountant

Brett is the founder and 100% shareholder of Dirmeik Consulting. His responsibilities include the day-to-day operation and long term strategic direction of the organisation, overseeing all bookkeeping, accounting, auditing and taxation activities, as well providing advisory services and maintaining close client relationships.

Brett graduated from Unisa with a Bachelor of Accounting Science in 1994. He completed his articles over a period of 4 years as a trainee accountant at a leading Cape Town based accounting firm, after which he was promoted to Accounting Supervisor and later Audit Manager. In 2004 Brett was offered the position of Financial Manager for an organisation within the film industry and in 2006, resigned to start his own company.

Cape Town Accountant Brett sets and achieves exceptionally high standards of work for himself and through leading his team by example, Brett insists upon the solid standards of excellence upon which his organisation continues to succeed. Brett believes in upholding solid values and in earning the trust and respect of clients. His meticulous attention to detail ensures that he is able to achieve profitable results first time, every time and that the important relationship between SARS and the client is properly maintained. Brett is a warm, approachable individual who is dedicated to maintaining an open and inclusive relationship with his clients. He believes that accurate, complete disclosure leads to targeted results and it is his personal mission to demystify accounting practice for clients through his sincere manner of business practice.

Vanessa Matthee – Tax Consultant

Vanessa is our in-house tax specialist who co-ordinates all private and commercial tax queries and requirements, such as Provisional Tax Returns, VAT, PAYE, Registrations etc. She is also responsible for executing all payroll services for our clients.

Vanessa gained 14 years in-depth tax experience working at SARS within various departments, including income tax, tax directives and client services, and in 2004, she attained a Diploma within Advanced Tax through SARS. Wishing to broaden her experience further, Vanessa resigned from SARS in 2004 and gained 2 years experience as a Tax Consultant within an accounting firm in Cape Town. In 2006, Vanessa joined Dirmeik Consulting and due to her intimate knowledge of the processes and requirements of SARS, has been adding immense value to the organisation and clients ever since.

Vanessa is passionate about her speciality and thoroughly enjoys the opportunity she is given at Cape Town Accounting Firm Dirmeik Consulting to make a real difference. She thrives on continually increasing her knowledge of taxation and strives to remain abreast at all times with the ongoing changes to tax law. She is a highly articulate, committed individual who believes in doing something extra everyday to maintain the positive experience that clients have come to enjoy at Dirmeik Consulting.

Michelle McKie – Office Administrator/PA

Michelle is our Office Administrator and the PA to Cape Town Accountant Brett Dirmeik. Her responsibilities include the day-to-day administration of the Cape Town Accounting office, as well as providing Brett with high level assistance within his daily responsibilities. Clients will recognise Michelle as the friendly voice who answers our switchboard and the welcoming lady who receives clients at our Cape Town reception.

Michelle has gained over 20 years experience within various secretarial and office management roles, including the financial services industry working for a leading South African bank (10 years), recruitment and the property industry. Michelle has also worked in the manufacturing industry as a group training assistant, where she gained experience in the management of regular training programmes for a large national company.

Michelle thrives on the variety her day provides - ensuring the efficient co-ordination of the Cape Town office and assisting her colleagues in achieving their objectives. She is an enthusiastic, open and highly energetic individual who is dedicated to providing a consistently efficient and friendly service at Dirmeik Consulting.
